Training and background.
I started my acting training in 1989 in The Questors Student Group 44. After graduating in 1991 I then trained in the Post graduate course at The Drama Studio London. After graduating in 1992 I work as an actor appearing in the Edinburgh festival, Minack and on several national tours. I started directing in 1995 as an assistant on The Mother by Brecht and then progressing through rehearsed readings and one act shows to my first show Amongst Barbarians.
In 1996 I founded The Anglo Irish Theatre Company. Very quickly I secured our own venue at The Drayton Court Pub. I ran this for a year before moving on to work for Live Business International as a director and then as entertainments manager in Mallorca.
I lived in Spain for the next three years doing various other jobs including entertainer in a pub.
I moved back to England in 2001 and took a break from theatre until 2005.
In 2006 I started teaching the second year course at The Questors. And Directing productions for them. Later in 2006 I was hired as an Drama coach on the docudrama Seven Sins Of England and the next year for another film as yet untitled. Both for Channel Four. In total I have directed over fifty productions and acted in twenty plays.
Seven Sins has recently been nominated for 3 BAFTAs.
I am currently production director for the Lichfield Mysteries.
