The First year is a foundation course taught by David Emmet. The course is based on the teaching of Constantin Stanislavski. The first year consists of one Acting Class per week, one movement and one Voice Class a week. Ending in a summer showcase of devised work.
The Second year course is taught by me. In the first term the students work on different styles of text. these include modules on Arthur Miller, Steven Berkof, Restoration Comedy, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde and Greek theatre. This is worked on in two 3 hour classes a week. The students also attend movement and voice classes. They have extensive training in Shakespeare verse speaking and Sword fight classes.
The Second term is the first full production in the 120 seat Studio Theatre at The Questors. They rehearse this for 16 hours a week over 5 days in the evenings and week ends. On a further day they attend voice and movement classes.
The Third term is their graduation production. This is performed in the Playhouse theatre a fully flexable 400 seat theatre.
Rehearsals are the same and both shows are rehearsed over a 9 week period.
